So, that is it from this game then! We know the three teams which have progressed through to the semis and we will find out on Saturday (29th January) who will be the 4th. It is a clash between India and Bangladesh, a repeat of the finals of the last World Cup. That game begins at 1830 IST (1300 GMT). The build-up though begins a lot earlier. Till then, goodbye and take care!
Cooper Connolly, the skipper of Australia Under-19, says they were not sure about what they wanted to do before the game but then they were happy to bat first and it came well. Hopes the top order continues to score runs for them. Adds 276 he felt was defendable and the bowlers were excellent. Reckons that they are a strong bowling unit and have a lot of variety. Also says they are going to focus on the next few days and see who they are going to face.
Qasim Akram, the skipper of Pakistan Under-19, says they did not bowl well at the start, the Australians batted well and credits them for the way they played. Adds 276 was a big total and the batters did not click so it was a tough task. Also says the Australian bowling was good and they hit the right lines and lengths.
Teague Wyllie is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says it was nice to get a good score on the board and it was a really good score on this wicket which was not easy to bat. States there was a little bit of sideways movement and some would grip and some would slide on and the partnership they had in the middle was very good. Adds he wanted to give himself a little more time and it came good. Mentions everybody in the team is helpful and he is pleased to play in this team. Ends by saying it is great to make it into the semis and he is thrilled about it.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
A sorry batting scorecard for the Men in Green and a frustrating day for them. No batter really found the rhythm out in the middle. Abdul Faseeh and Irfan Khan did play a few shots and tried to rebuild the innings but once they perished, it was all downhill from there. Lower-order did try but it was all too late. Chasing such a big target, you need partnerships and a few innings of significance but Pakistan had none and in the end, they lost by a big margin.
After an exceptional performance with the bat, they have put on a better show with the ball. All their bowlers were right on cue. They got the early breakthroughs and put Pakistan Under-19 under pressure from the beginning. Every time Pakistan were trying to build a partnership, Australia came back with a wicket. They picked up wickets at regular intervals and ripped through their batting line-up. A disciplined effort from the Australians. William Salzmann grabbed 3 wickets and was the leader of the pack. Tom Whitney and Jack Sinfield were great too as they picked up two wickets each. In the end, a comprehensive win for Australia, they continue to march on!
Australia Under-19 win and they become the third team to qualify for the semi-final of the Under-19 World Cup! A dominating performance from them, they were all over Pakistan Under-19. A disappointing day for the Men in Green!

OUT! TAKEN! There is the last wicket and it is William Salzmann who gets it. His third! Shorter and on off, Zeeshan looks to hit it over covers but it goes off the splice and it is a simple catch to the fielder there. Lachlan Shaw makes no mistake. AUSTRALIA GO THROUGH TO THE SEMIS AS THEY WIN BY 119 RUNS!
